History
RestorED started with two classroom teachers, Reggie Berry and Sarah Eblen. After seeing the success of restorative practices in the classroom, they created and led the Restorative Justice Department in the Kansas City Public School District for five years. They launched RestorED in 2022. With the help of one of their former students, Laila Stevenson, the team works work with school districts, community organizations, and non-profits to provide practical training and sustainable system-building.
Mission
RestorativeED is committed to promoting awareness, education, and sustainability of Restorative Practices.
We believe implementing Restorative Practices requires a paradigm shift and specific skillsets. Therefore, our training includes theory, practical skills, and in-the-moment coaching.
Module 1: Community and Accountability in your Classroom
Module 2: Reinforcing Values and Expectations
We believe this work should be implemented by Staff that are embedded in the School Community. We provide coaching to those staff members to improve RP efficacy.
New this year, we're partnering with the National Center for Restorative Justice in leading the Restorative Schools Fellowship.
Restorative Coaching
We understand that Resource creation can be a barrier to implementing Restorative Practices. We provide resources for K-12, Universities, and Community Organizations.
